Pelissero Barbaresco Nubiola

While this may or may not be the official wine of the Vatican, the Barbaresco from Pelissero is what the Pope drinks.

The word Nebbiolo takes its roots from the word Nubiola. And Nubiola gets its name from a historical agricultural treaty in the 1330s, when Nubiola was referenced as “a sort of black grape… wonderfully vinous and adapted for wine making.”
