This lovely Chardonnay is from the Fleurie Cru and is a Lieu dit, a French term referring to a specific part of a vineyard or region recognized for its own topographic or historical specificities, from third generation winemaker Lucien Lardy. Cultivating some of the best plots in Fleurie and practicing responsible farming, Lardy chose this specific plot for his Chardonnay because the bedrock comes right up to the surface, giving the vines a very poor soil in which they have to struggle to grow.
