Dom Thierry Ruinart, a visionary Benedictine monk learned of a new 'wine with bubbles' enjoyed by the aristocrats when he left his home in Champagne to study at the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Pres outside of Paris. Thanks to his intuition, his nephew, Nicolas Ruinart, made history by starting the first-ever Champagne House.
