Mont Marçal was founded in 1975 by Manuel Sancho, a well-renowned Spanish recording empresario, when he purchased a 19th-century convent in the heart of the Penedès region. The newly acquired convent which was originally a 14th-century farmhouse, was then converted into a state-of-the-art winemaking facility.
