Wine on the Water Visits Spain with Ally's Picks!

We're thrilled to introduce a stunning lineup of Spanish wines that showcase both tradition and innovation. Featuring Ally, our wine rep with McCarus, we've selected exceptional wines from across the Iberian Peninsula. Whether you're looking for a bold red, a delicate white, or something to celebrate with bubbles, these wines have something unique to offer. Let's explore each wine and suggest the perfect dishes to bring out their best flavors!

Mata I Coloma Trepat Rosé Brut Reserva

This sparkling rosé is made from the native Trepat grape, delivering elegant bubbles with notes of red berries, citrus, and a touch of toasted bread from aging on the lees. It’s vibrant and lively, with a dry finish that refreshes the palate. Sparkling wines are wonderful with a wide variety of foods, and this rosé brut reserva is no exception. Its brightness and bubbles make it a perfect pairing for rich and creamy dishes like lobster mac and cheese or a goat cheese tart. For lighter fare, try smoked salmon canapés, sushi, or a Mediterranean mezze platter with hummus, roasted peppers, and tzatziki. It’s also a great choice for brunch, served with smoked trout and eggs or fresh berries with whipped cream.

Celler Pardas "Pell a Pell" Xarel-lo

This bright and aromatic white wine offers layers of citrus, green apple, and floral notes, all underpinned by a refreshing minerality. It's crisp, complex, and textured, making it a delightful option for those who love whites with depth and character. Xarel-lo is a fantastic wine for seafood lovers. Its acidity and minerality enhance dishes like grilled prawns, seared scallops, or a simple lemon-garlic shrimp pasta. It also pairs well with fresh salads, especially those with citrus dressings or herbs like basil and mint. Try it alongside a classic Spanish dish like paella or tapas such as olives, almonds, and marinated anchovies.

Viña Zorzal "Cuatro del Cuatro" Graciano

Deep and intense, this Graciano is bursting with dark fruit flavors like black cherry and blackberry, with a touch of licorice and spice. It’s structured yet fresh, with vibrant acidity and a long finish. Graciano’s acidity and depth make it an excellent match for rich, hearty dishes. Pair this wine with braised lamb shank or a perfectly cooked ribeye steak. It also shines alongside dishes with earthy flavors like grilled portobello mushrooms or a lentil and sausage stew. For something simpler, enjoy it with a platter of cured meats and Manchego cheese.

Celler Pardas "Negra Franc" Cabernet Franc Blend

This intriguing blend brings together the aromatic complexity of Cabernet Franc with the rustic, mineral notes of indigenous Sumoll and the freshness of Malvasia. Expect red currant, wild herbs, and a hint of smoke with a lively finish. A versatile wine that pairs beautifully with both meat and vegetarian dishes. Try it with grilled pork chops topped with fresh herbs, or a wild mushroom risotto. For a Mediterranean twist, pair with grilled lamb kofta or roasted eggplant with tahini. The wine’s acidity also complements tomato-based dishes like ratatouille or spaghetti Bolognese.

These new Spanish arrivals are perfect for enhancing your dining experiences, whether you're preparing an elegant dinner, enjoying a casual meal with friends, or celebrating a special occasion.
