Wine on the Water ~ A Taste of Portugal!

Join us this week for Wine On The Water celebrating the remarkable diversity and character of Portuguese wines. From coastal freshness to inland elegance, this lineup showcases the vibrant winemaking traditions and indigenous grapes that make Portugal one of the most exciting wine regions in the world.

Featured Wines:

🍷 Ve-Ve Rosé – Vinho Regional Minho
Fresh, fun, and supremely drinkable, Ve-Ve Rosé is a charming pink wine from Portugal’s northern Minho region. Crafted primarily from indigenous grapes like Espadeiro and Touriga Nacional, this wine offers juicy red berry flavors, a crisp mineral backbone, and just enough floral lift to keep things interesting. Light-bodied and refreshing, it's the perfect aperitif or warm-weather companion.

🍇 Quinta de Santiago Vinho Verde “Vinha do Pisco” – Vinho Verde DOC
A single-vineyard Vinho Verde with surprising depth and complexity. Made from old-vine Alvarinho grown in the sub-region of Monção e Melgaço, “Vinha do Pisco” delivers layers of citrus, stone fruit, and salty minerality. With its textured mouthfeel and racy acidity, this wine redefines what Vinho Verde can be—serious, age-worthy, and absolutely delicious.

🍷 Pormenor Douro Vinho Tinto – Douro DOC
This elegant red from the Douro Valley is a field blend of traditional grapes such as Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Rufete. Pormenor focuses on minimal intervention winemaking and lower extraction to highlight freshness and terroir. The result is a medium-bodied red with bright red fruits, subtle spice, and silky tannins—more Burgundian in style than the Douro's typical powerhouse reds.

🍷 Niepoort Dão Rótulo Tinto – Dão DOC
From the renowned Dirk Niepoort comes this expressive red from the granite soils of the Dão region. Made from a blend of Touriga Nacional, Jaen (Mencía), and Alfrocheiro, Rótulo Tinto is vibrant and refined. Expect aromas of wild berries, violets, and herbs, supported by polished tannins and an earthy, savory finish. A beautiful example of Dão’s potential for finesse and balance.

Whether you're a seasoned wine lover or just beginning to explore Portuguese wines, this tasting offers a unique opportunity to discover why Portugal continues to captivate the wine world. We look forward to raising a glass with you!
