"Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice" ~ Wine on the Water: December 3

Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice
As the holiday season approaches, we’re leaning into the flavors that make this time of year so special with a theme that feels both festive and a little nostalgic: Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice. Each wine in this lineup brings its own sparkle of brightness, warmth, or seasonal richness—bottles that cozy right up to holiday dishes and shine beautifully at winter gatherings.
Join us on Wednesday, December 3, as Sarah Dillon pours a charming selection of wines crafted to warm the spirit and inspire your holiday table.
Val de Mer Rosé – Burgundy, France
Val de Mer Rosé brings the “sugar” element with its lively red-berry fruit and soft, floral lift. Crisp and dry, it offers notes of strawberry, raspberry, and a delicate touch of minerality that keeps every sip bright and refreshing. It’s a delightful match for shrimp cocktail, holiday ham, brie en croûte, or cranberry-glazed turkey sliders—and it makes a festive, cheerful opener for any holiday celebration.
Weninger Weinland Souvignier Gris – Burgenland, Austria
Weninger’s Souvignier Gris carries the “spice” theme with aromatic hints of citrus peel, ginger, and savory herbs. Textured and expressive, this wine shows flavors of pear, quince, and gentle tropical notes woven with savory minerality. It’s right at home alongside roast turkey with herbs, sage-and-onion stuffing, sweet-potato gratin, and roasted root vegetables—practically tailor-made for the season’s most comforting dishes.
Bulfon Refosco – Friuli, Italy
Bulfon Refosco brings the “everything nice” element with its naturally spicy berry character and earthy warmth. This medium-bodied red brims with red and black berries, touches of baking spice, and a whisper of foresty earth. It pairs gracefully with herb-roasted pork loin, mushroom-stuffed ravioli, aged cheeses, and anything involving wild mushrooms, delivering that cozy, rustic charm that winter evenings call for.
Clos Troteligotte Malbec – Cahors, France
Clos Troteligotte’s Malbec ties the theme together beautifully with deep dark fruit and a gentle peppery edge. Plum, blackberry, and a streak of graphite lead into a smooth, velvety finish that brings richness and warmth to the table. It’s outstanding with prime rib, beef tenderloin, braised short ribs, lamb roasts, or even dark-chocolate desserts—bold, comforting, and absolutely holiday-ready.
We hope you’ll join us for this joyful tasting—an evening filled with new discoveries, festive flavors, and a little Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice in every glass. We can’t wait to share these wines with you!
