A joint venture between Joel Gott and Charles Bieler, Shatter is an exploration of Grenache and its unique terroir. Thus far, its focus has been solely on ancient, rain-fed Grenache vines thriving in the schist-laden, scorching Maury Valley of France's Roussillon region.

Cloaked in an intense, inky black hue, this wine reveals a symphony of flavors and scents, marked by dominant notes of black currant, an enticing medley of spices, and hints of cured meats, complemented by subtle coffee undertones from gently toasted barrels. Throughout the tasting experience, an underlying mineral essence, attributed to the schist soil, persists, infusing the wine with that distinctive iron-like quality.
