Journey Through France: Lorraine and Loire Valley

Join us this week for a wine tasting event that promises a delightful journey through the diverse and historic wine regions of France. Join us as we embark on a flavorful adventure, starting in the picturesque vineyards of Lorraine and concluding in the renowned Loire Valley.

Starting in Lorraine

Our tasting begins with the exquisite Domaine Lelievre Leucquois Methode Traditionelle Brut. This sparkling wine, crafted in the traditional method, offers a vibrant expression of the region's terroir. You will enjoy its fine bubbles, crisp texture, and flavors of strawberry, raspberry, and peach. It offers light, balanced acidity, and a finish that is neither too dry nor too sweet. This elegant sparkler is a true testament to Lorraine's winemaking excellence.

A Stop in the Loire Valley: Rosé Delights

Next, we travel to the Loire Valley with the refreshing Thibaud Boudignon Rosé, a noble, supremely saline rosé with an exquisitely delicate texture. A blend of Cab Franc and Grolleau, it is made like a white wine to preserve minerality and structure. The wine is full of bright flavors of wild raspberries, blood orange zest, and red currant, all in a refreshingly silky package.

Exploring the Whites: Muscadet Marvel

Continuing our journey in the Loire Valley, we will savor the Domaine de l'Ecu "Classis" Muscadet. This white wine is renowned for its pronounced minerality and vibrant acidity. This wine, called "Classic," is designed to highlight its distinct character, emphasizing fresh, young fruit flavors. It presents a clear, yellow straw color with aromas of lime, grapefruit, white fruits, pear, and apple, alongside salty and citrus notes. On the palate, it is rich and straight, with a well-balanced acidity and refreshing hints of lime and sea. Ideal for pairing with seafood, especially oysters, this Muscadet is a quintessential representation of the Loire Valley's winemaking heritage.

Culminating with Reds: A Unique Cabernet Sauvignon

Our tasting adventure concludes with the bold and biodynamic Domaine de l'Ecu "Virtus" Cabernet Sauvignon. Although Cabernet Sauvignon is typically associated with regions like Bordeaux or California, Domaine de l'Ecu's biodynamic approach in the Loire Valley creates unique characteristics. "Virtus" features ripe red and black fruit flavors such as blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum, with earthy and herbal notes, balanced acidity, and well-structured tannins. This unique expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Loire Valley is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of wine exploration, where each glass tells a story of French terroir and tradition.
