Celebration of National Pinot Noir Day!

Please join us on Wednesday, August 16, as we celebrate the upcoming National Pinot Noir Day!  National Pinot Noir Day is on August 18th and this week we will be celebrating one of the world's most popular wine grapes a couple of days early.

We will be enjoying this fan favorite from different areas including New Mexico, California, Oregon and France.

Pinot Noir Grape

Pinot Noir is a thin-skinned grape, that produces wines with an intensity that oozes summer flavors of ripe cherries, wild strawberries and crushed berries. Add to that a velvety smoothness and an underlying complexity and you have a silky wine that’s hard to beat. Pinot Noir is high in acidity and lower in tannins which makes it go very well with food. The name is derived from the French words for pine and black. The word pine reflects the grapes having tightly clustered, pine cone-shaped bunches of fruit.

Megan Brown, with Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits, will be pouring these wines for us this week.

Gruet Brut Rosé

A beautiful garnet in color, this Rosé has a delicate, fine mousse and rich, fruit flavors. This full-bodied sparkler starts with floral and berry aromas which introduce flavors of cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, finishing delicately with zesty acidity.

Calera Pinot Noir Central Coast

This beautifully lush and supple Pinot Noir draws you in with inviting aromas of raspberry, dark cherry, dried sage and sweet tobacco leaf. On the palate, soft, supple tannins frame alluring layers of wild strawberry and Bing cherry, with hints of cracked black pepper and spice emerging on a long, satisfying finish.

Louis Latour Les Pierres Dorees

With a brilliant color of ruby highlights, our Pinot Noir "Les Pierres Dorees" 2019 reveals aromas of blackcurrant, spices and liquorice on the nose. Ample and round in the mouth, blackcurrant comes along with notes of undergrowth. This wine shows elegant tannins and a lovely freshness on the finish.

Erath Estate Selection Pinot Noir

Boasting inviting aromas of mixed berry vanilla cobbler, cherry, and black plum, Erath Estate Selection Pinot Noir embodies the essence of Oregon's Willamette Valley, offering a burst of juicy flavors of boysenberry, blackberry, and baking spice, with a silky smooth finish.

Pinot Noir ranks among the most beloved red wines in the world.  Join us on Wednesday to discover why!
