Furmint is the flagship grape of Hungary and easily the country’s most important varietal. Famously used in Tokaji Aszú dessert wines (pair this with foie gras in lieu of Sauternes, trust me!), but dry styles of the wine are also available.
(This is the dry style)
Taken from the French word ‘froment’ for the golden wheat color of the wine, Furmint is elegant and rich with aromas of white flowers and peach. Enjoy the wine with aged goat cheese, chicken Alfredo or spicy Asian dishes!
