Exploring the Greek Isles
Often overlooked, and definitely misunderstood, Greek wine is not only exceptional, but has exceptional value! Believe it or not, Greece was not only among the first wine producing territories in Europe, but one of the oldest wine producing regions in the world, with evidence of winemaking dating back 6,500 years ago. The vines are grown in soil of lava rock from the volcanos which formed the islands. And given the climate and lack of rainfall, growing wine there is as difficult as it can be in Burgundy. And because the vines struggle, the better the fruit, even if it’s only a small amount. That, combined with thousands of winemaking years of practice behind them, come some of the coolest and most delicious wines on the planet.
So come on out, open yourself up to try something new, and enjoy some great Greek wines with us. And remember, the wines may be new to you, but on a historic level, they’ve been around for quite some time.
Tasting: Wednesday June 23rd from 5 - 7
