Easter Bunny Bubbles!

Take a small step out of Champagne and into the small and relatively new appellation, the Cotes de Toul. Here we have, grown on a high elevation in clay and limestone soils from the Jurassic age (yes of the dinosaur park fame), a sparkling Gamay from Domaine Lelievre. Made in Method Traditionnelle, exactly like Champagne, is their Les Eveques Leucquois Brut.

To say that this is the best Cremant, French sparkling wine not from Champagne, that I've had in a long time is an understatement. This delectable wine bursts with raspberry, high acid and finishes with dry, herbal notes.

If you're celebrating the Easter holiday, or Spring, or just celebrating in general, this is the perfect wine for the occasion. An adorable purple bunny adorns the label (the Easter Bunny???), as there are a plethora of rabbits in the fields of the vineyard and the family has adopted them as their mascot.
